Ingredients
- 500g smoked bacon , finely chopped
- 2 onions, finely chopped
- About 500g dried cannellini beans (soaked and cooked)
- 2 tsp chilli powder
- 2 tsp dreid oregano
- 1000g tomato passata
- 400ml chicken stock
- 2 tbsp black treacle
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp light brown soft sugar
- 3 tsp Worcestershire sauce
Method
- In a large pan fry the bacon and onion untlil the backen is crisp and onion is translucent.
- Stir in all the other ingredients (except for the beans)
- Bring to the boil and simmmer for 10 minutes.
- Add the beans and stir through.
- Check seasoning and add some pepper.
- Cook until sauce is reduced and thickened.
Serve with scambled eggs and sausages.
